Fats You Should Avoid During Hemorrhoid Treatment
During a hemorrhoid treatment, it is good to know what kind of fats are beneficial for you and which ones you should avoid. For example, nuts, seeds, oily fish, olive oil and lean meats are a great source of healthy fat. Butter, margarine, processed foods containing trans fats, hydrogenated or partially hydrogenated oils and fatty cuts of meats, such as ground beef, sausage and luncheon meats are not recommended when you are healing or treating hemorrhoids.
It is important to keep in mind that you will be able to eat those fats again once you recover from your hemorrhoids. But avoiding them temporally may make your hemorrhoid treatment more efficient.
Important things to know after you recover from a hemorrhoid flare-up are that if you eat too much fat, it may create an increase in fat storage in adipose tissue and thus increase your cholesterol level. On the other hand, if you eat too little fat, it may cause an essential fatty acid deficiency, which causes skin problems, hair loss and poor wound healing.
